The Next Big Thing

The Next Big Thing Blog Post/Hop is a way authors let folks know what they're up to. I currently have a lot on the TBW (To Be Written) list so I'm gonna talk about my latest release, "Forever ME" it's for all you YA lovers out there! I was nominated by the very talented M.E. Franco! This girl has it going on! She's got two paranormal  books out in a series, just finished a hot cowboy romance! I'm pleased to say I knew her when!
Okay onto the blog!

1      What is the working title of your book?
“Forever ME”
2      Where did the idea come from for the book?
A segment I saw on a morning television show inspired it.
3      What genre does your book fall under?
YA Contemporary
4      Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
That’s a hard one because there are so many gifted young actresses out there!
But for the adults: Kurt Russell as the dad, Jacob. Josh Holloway as Kenny his deputy.
Amy Acker as Jill. Madchen Amick as Shannon.
5      What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
High school is hard enough being yourself, let alone trying to be someone you’re not.
6      What is the longer synopsis of your book?
“Forever Me” is a YA novel about sixteen-year-old, Hannah Richards. A plain Jane type of girl who lives a healthy well adjusted life with her father, the town sheriff. She’s not popular by any means, but has her own friends. Her life changes when she comes to the aide of a snobby girl, who’s part of a clique of mean popular girls. She catches the eye of the most popular guy in school. His mother, a former beauty queen isn’t keen on her son dating a girl with no social standing. Soon, Hannah becomes embroiled in a tug of war of friends and social circles, along with a town mystery that shocks everyone.
7      Is your book self-published or represented by an agency?

Self published and loving it!

8      How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
2 years.

9      Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Group of girls from Texas who organized a group called, Redefining Beautiful.
10   What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
While it plays on many common high school themes and situations, bullying is such an evil in the lives of kids today. And bullying isn’t always just mean girls at school, sometimes it’s your own family. Kids have a tough enough time trying to find an identity, the pressures from home and school are more than some students can handle.
My turn to nominate two authors: I nominate the awesome Zoe Harrington! And my newest author friend: Paulina Ulrich!
